Add a 12vdc under the dash

Good morning everyone and happy thanksgiviing... I need some help, i want to add a 12vdc plug hidden under the dash for a dashcam. has anyone tapped into existing power and done something like that?

you do not need to do that
just get one of these, it uses the power at the mirror

Ensure the power port lighter fuse is set to ignition, then stick a thin spade terminal in the unused battery side. There's your B+

The power port fuse space has three terminals, run/load/B+. Moving the fuse from side to side allows you to switch from one source to the other.

100000% for fitcamx. great device plug in plag takes almost 7 minutes to install and configure. NOTE: be sure to get you an USB adapter to plug your chip into and KEEP IT N YOUR TRUCK. That way the cops can plug it into their laptop for confirmation of the IDIOT that crashed into you.! BUT you can also show them foorage via cell phone bluetooth .

not fitcam camera but stil 1000000 % usefull. Action about 2:30 in ...it's ony about 5 frames..as camea id dead after the endo...before the barrell rolls. Better viewing in .25 speed to see the volvo that hit me. My LATE F-150
