I have a new 25 rebel which has adaptive cruise as well as drive assist. Those. Or familiar with drive assist, it kinda drives itself provided you keep your hands on the wheel. You can let go for a few seconds but it’ll shut off if you do. Anyhow, the issue is, when ACC bugs out because of debris or whatever on the sensors, there’s no way that I can find, to turn on regular cruise control. Most rams and dodges with ACC have a regular cruise button you can just push and be on your way. This does not! I’ve tried everything I, and others I’ve spoken to, and to no avail. The dealer doesn’t know, customer service says ask the dealer. Anyone know how to set regular cruise on a vehicle with ACC and assisted driving. Here’s the steering wheel controls

Thanks

My ACC on my limited is the button in the middle on the left. The button to the far right is the handsfree self driving when it drives itself on supported roads.

Yes mine too. I want to know how to set regular cruise control. No adaptive, no self driving, basic cruise control. Thanks

That option was removed from what I've read. It's crazy they did that though. Also, on the Ford, you can strap an ankle weight to the steering wheel and it thinks you hands are on it. I wonder if you can do the same on the Ram or if it uses the touch sensors like Tesla.

I didn't get drive assist but did get adaptive cruise and standard cruise. I can envision uses for both, but I think I'll use standard the most.

Drive assist would not work for me. I just don't see me trusting in, so I'm good with what I have.

I don't like self propelled to push mowers either.

Drive assist might work on a highway, I don’t know. I tried it today and it was running into the opposite lane. Way over the double yellow lines.

I haven't looked into it in the new Ram, but in the previous vehicles, holding the cruise on button for a few seconds disabled adaptive cruise.
Just pressing it disables it and turns on normal cruise. No need to hold it.

I wonder if the new Ram has an owner's manual that might explain if regular cruise can be enabled.

Just pressing it only turns it off and you can do nothing else. The manual tells you how to activate regular cruise on vehicles without assisted cruise. Never discussed ones with.
