I've been reading here and other places for a few weeks now and trying to take as much in as I can. I even went back and forth with a member asking him how he liked a particular kit(and thank you for your time sir!). With that said I'm torn between the 6in BDS kit or just going with a serious level that will improve performance(like Fox).

I have a 2020 Ram 1500, 5.7 etorque with the 3.21 gears.

I was pretty much dead set on ordering the 6in BDS coil over kit as well as ordering new UCAs.

Then I started looking into my gearing. I know the 3.92 gears would be ideal. Would I run into issues having the 3.21 gears with the 6in kit?

Possibly stessing out the rear end and tranny is what has me re- thinking my options.

It seems our trucks were designed to be able to run 35in tires with just a leveling kit with what I've read here.

35in tires are honestly about the biggest I'll go. Definitely no bigger than 37.

What are y'alls thoughts?

With that being said, can I just have the Fox 2.5 coil overs installed to level the front and improve the performance? I guess I'm just cofused as to what can be used as a stand alone performance level vs what's part of a bigger lift.

I have bilsteins on my 2010 1500 and it definitely wasn't all it was made out to be. I don't want to go that route or spacers.

Any advice or suggestions y'all have would be greatly appreciated.

i havent correlated truck height to gear ratio or how a certain gear ratio inside a pumpkin would be harmed directly from a lift kit - (besides changing all the drive shaft angles and etc that would physically hurt it)

but -

ill guess that you'd be making a toad. performance wise.

basically the larger the tire/wheel, the slower or longer it is. and also basically the lower a gear number is the slower or longer it is.

a big ol huge tire is going to be slower than a smaller one. then you are gonna try to spin it with long gears 3.21. so its like double slow.

the higher number 3.92, 4.10, etc the quicker / more revolutions you get at the axle per turn of the engine driveline.

back in the day I put 8" wheels on my 3 wheeler. it was quick as hell but topped out at like 40mph. with the stock 12" wheels it was way slower off the line, but could run up to 60 mph.

i hope that helps you.

Well been doing a lot of reading.

Seems the 6in is out due to the 3.21 gearing.

So, correct me if I'm wrong but a 2.5in level with 33s should be good to go.
