Hello all, wanted to document this as I read ALL of the forum posts and there wasn't a resounding answer for what I was looking for. I spend HOURS reading and researching and if this saves someone some time, then it's all worth it. I am very happy overall with the HK system, and while it plays low, there is a significant lack of punch - and that's something I wanted to fill in. If you have a Non-Etorque Crew cab model, this box fits behind the rear driver side passenger without affecting the reclining seats (1 Single Truck Subwoofer Slim Ported Standard Box 10” Shallow Woofer Enclosure | eBay).
Dimensions of this box:
16” L
15”H
4.5” Top width
6.5” Bottom width
4 3/4” Mounting depth
1 3/4” Port opening
The only way to get it in there without cutting the back padding is to put it in between the seat and carpeted back wall. I tried placing it behind the carpet wall, and while it is possible, you will have to cut the wall fabric. The angle coming off the box is such that it's just too great of a bend to get the fabric back into the pillar. My goal was to preserve the under seat storage, not perform any permanent modifications and also add an amp, which this box enables.
Grounding - there is a grounding post on my 2022 that is unused directly under the seat which can easily be accessed for the ground.
Audio input to amp -APSUB-CH42 (APSUB-CH42) - being that mine is a 2022, I needed the 42. Regarding the ANC - I reached out to PAC prior to purchasing and was told I MAY need to bybass the ANC. They wouldn't confirm or deny anything. Installing this module is relatively easy and I can validate that you do not need to bypass the ANC. You get to keep the ANC. I notice no appreciable difference in having this new sub other than the increased bass (as designed). Of all the forums, I only found one other post in the TRX forums that stated this for the HK systems.
Audio equipment used: Pioneer TS-Z10LS2, Pioneer GM-D8701. I've had pioneer subs since I was 18, so I'm partial. I did use polyfill @ 4.4oz in the box. This was based on rough judgement and chatgpt for the interior calculations.
Overall, very happy. Added punch is now there, my storage space is barely compromised and I get to keep ANC. Total time to assemble & install: 3 hours.
Hope this helps and if ya'll want pictures let me know, but this post is pretty self explanatory.
