Hi all. Just upgraded my troublesome 2015 1500 Big Horn for a 2019 with only 6K on it! The '15 had issues: ESIM sensor (2x), AGS and hood sensor went, fuel level sensor in the tank, exhaust manifold bolts at 60K, couple back up cameras, peeling door trim, broken e-brake handle, few other things I've blocked out. Hoping my 2019 is more reliable. So far, really impressed with the quiet, comfortable ride, +200lbs of payload, and all the bells and whistles like the bed step, cargo rails, 33 gallon tank, and a freakin' CD player! The new tailgate is slick, and the LED bed lights--wow--with the tonneau, game changer! And the 8HP75 feels like butter over the 8HP70. Can't wait to see how it does pulling 5K @ 11,000'!
Reinstalled my Hellwig sway bar and just can't believe what an amazing change that simple part makes in the body roll and bouncing. That thing is a must for any 1500. Suspension does feel pretty soft, will see soon how it does towing and in the mountains. (Hoping I don't have to pony up for shocks/springs yet.) Also excited to see if the larger brakes make a difference when towing.
Overall, super excited for the new rig. Feels pretty Cadillac and am okay to give up some of the tighter sportiness of the 4th gen. Just need to get some real tires (BFG AT 8ply on the way) and I should be good to go!
Looking forward to learning and sharing!
