I purchased Hikari low and hi beams for my 4th gen, they worked great. When I traded in my 4th gen, I removed the LEDs and later installed them in my 5th gen without premium lighting. After installing low beam, I tested them and they worked. After installing one high beam, I tested it and it worked. I forgot to test after I installed the second high beam bulb. Since then low beam works great with no issues but high beams do not come on at all. I went into alphaobd and made the changes necessary with no success. My dealer mentioned he did see an error code thrown my 5th gen. I have searched and only found bits of information to solve this issue. Any ideas?

If you have premium Lighting on a big horn, that means you have LED headlights already. Anyway, is it possible they just stop working? Also have you tried removing the one that you never tested first just to see if the other one comes on?

i do not have the premium lighting package, I have the base halogens.
I have not yet, when installing the high beams I wasn’t able to lock them into the housing just by popping the hood. I had to remove each headlight to get them to seat properly. This is why I’m reaching out at a last resort before taking the headlights off again, because it’s quite a task to remove 5th gen headlights. Lol

Okay, your original post said you had the premium lighting package. You will probably have to go through the painful process of removing them again.

Just for reference the LEDs came with this adapter which should prevent error codes. The second photo is a code alpha obd is pulling IMG_6336.jpeg

Sorry I apologize, I meant without premium lighting.

I ordered the bulbs that Lasfit recommended for me (LC air I think) and they worked fine. After I ordered they sent me an email confirming my truck. I assumed they were double checking that I ordered the correct stuff and there was no other correspondence after that. They did work great but I never did the test with two different bulbs at the same time LOL. My 4th gen needed a box like you showed but my fifth gen was ok with just the lasfit.

X2 on the Lasfit LED upgrade bulbs. No ballast needed. Direct plug and play. Both highs and lows working no problem. And all four locations are doable without pulling the headlight housings. The low lamps are accessible being the wheel well liners.

I can definitely disconnect the box part of it Without pulling the headlights. I will give this a shot tomorrow, thanks for the info!

I could access them, I wasn’t able to seat and twist to locking point.
