I've read about this plenty of times.

With my '21, I can walk away with the engine running and the key fob in my pocket and my truck does not honk the horn. IIRC, that is a setting somewhere in the Uconnect that I found and turned off immediately after I got my truck.

I have read on here that with the Uconnect 5 ('23 and later?), it does not have that setting and there is no way to stop those trucks from honking the horn when you walk away with the key fob in your pocket and the engine running.

I test drove a '25 Limited yesterday. I really like that HO motor.

I tested the thing with walking away. It honked 3 times quickly. The honks didn't seem that loud. Like, maybe it wasn't giving full volume horn blasts.

And, it only did the 3 quick honks as I walked away and then didn't honk any more.

Is that really how it works?

I'm wondering if I had continued walking even further away, or if I had waited longer once I was away, if the truck would have honked more/again.

Any insight anyone can share?

I had previously thought the honking would be a near-deal breaker for me. But, if it's really just the 3 quick, not-loud honks and that's it, I'm pretty sure I can live with that.

My ‘22 Longhorn does the 3 honk deal. I believe that was the first year of it. No where in Uconnect to toggle off.
One thing you can do is hold the key fob against the rear door glass while closing the driver’s door. No honk then.
I also saw a uTube video of how to disable it with AlfaOBD. It works on the ‘23 model he demonstrated the procedure on. Won’t work on my ‘22 though.
With that said though, I don’t know if any AlfaOBD settings will work with the ‘25 models. Holding the FOB on the rear glass maybe the only option
