Hi Gents,

I just picked up a 2024 Ram Limited w/ air suspension on the stock 22" wheel and tire package, and am looking to replace those with new 20" wheels and 33" AT tires. With that, I have a couple of questions.

- What increase or decrease in ride comfort should I expect switching to larger sidewall, but e-rated tires vs the stock xl rated tires on the 22" rims?
- Do I even need E-rated tires? My use case is 90% on road and 10% exploring southern Utah with my son. The most towing I'd do would be a teardrop camper. For largely gravel and mildly rocky/sandy roads, would 33" AT XL be sufficient or do I really need E rated?

Thanks!
Ben

stick with SL rated tires. those E and F rated tires make your ride quality feel like crap whether you have air suspension or not.

You likely only want E rated if you're towing some heavy trailers.

I ended up going with Falken AT4W LT275 /60 R20 119S D1 BSW (D range). I'm not planning on doing a lot of towing and this tire can go up to 65psi if needed.

Just make sure to check the tires before they mount them. There's a 119 and a 115. The tire shop screwed up and got the 115 which don't allow 65psi. I didn't notice until they mounted them. They changed them out, but gave me a hard time and tried to get me to keep them.

Go down to 18" wheels and run 33s, your ride will improve over 20s.
I'm on 35x12.5R18 Falken Wildpeaks AT3w F-rated that are 3 years old by now, with 54k miles on them. Still have about... 70-80% tread left and I drive my truck off pavement a lot, running desert routes and crawl occasionally (I try to avoid it but when the campsite is THAT good then...)
I don't tow (other than that one time I towed a trailer around the block to park it for my friend because his truck was blocked in) but i do have about 800lb constant in the bed.
