I've developed a solution that enables me to view my trailer camera image through my digital rear view mirror (DRVM) in my Australian delivered 2025 RAM 1500 Hurricane HO Limited.

Achieving this required:
1. Replacing the factory single-camera input DRVM (68594726AA) with a genuine dual-camera input DRVM (68594723AA)
2. Sourcing a genuine rear-view vehicle camera to use as a trailer camera (68448640AA)
3. Designing a custom camera housing
4. Selecting the correct cable type to suit the extended cable run length from the DRVM to the trailer camera
5. Designing a custom trailer connector to mate with the RAM bumper inlet

It is working really well. I love the integrated result and being able to see the road and traffic behind my trailer !!!
The trailer camera can be adjusted up and down, side to side, and rotated, using the controls on the DRVM. It also tilts down automatically when you put the truck in reverse.

There are other options available such as wireless cameras, clip on mirrors, etc. This is for those looking for a seamless integrated fit that to date, is not offered by RAM.

I'm not a business, just a fellow RAM 1500 owner overcoming an issue that should be provided by RAM. Take a look at the attachments and let me know what you think.

Quick question about the dual input mirror. I assume that if one of the inputs is not used, it still functions correctly with the third brake light camera as the only input? I don’t see how it could work any other way, since a trailer camera isn’t used continuously. My parts guy claimed it wouldn’t work, which I doubt is true. Can you confirm the function and what happens when no camera is hooked to the second input?

Your assumption is 100% correct

The DRVM functions as normal with the camera in the third brake light

The DRVM gives priority and automatically switches to the trailer camera when you plug the trailer to the truck as demonstrated in the trailer video above (1’11”)

Of course, you can use the buttons on the DRVM to toggle between the 2 camera inputs which is also demonstrated in the same video.

The buttons on the DRVM can also adjust the camera view up/down, side/side, twist/skew.
