Hey everyone,
I’ve had my RAM 1500 Sport for about 6 months and overall, it's ok truck, just ok. The engine and transmission are smooth, it's powerful, comfortable, and refined in many ways.
But, there are a few things that are honestly pretty annoying, and a couple that are terrible.
1. Side mirrors: when switching between driver profiles, they never return exactly to the previously saved position, maybe 80–90% there, but not 100%. I brought up this to my dealership few times and first time they told me that everything is fine but second time I spoke with manager and show him what exactly is going on. He agreed that is the issue but couldn't give me a solution. He said he will talk with Chrysler Canada and get back to me. That was few weeks ago and still nothing.
2. Side mirrors squeak: sometimes left side mirror squeak when folding. They replaced mirror once, but when I brought it up again, the dealership told me this is “normal" because of design of the mirror. It actually mirror plastic or rubber is rubbing when folding on fixed piece and when is there little bit moisture, it squeaks.
3. Door sound: closing the doors just doesn’t feel premium. They have that cheap, hollow sound. In past 10 years I owned Hyundai Santa Fe, Hyundai Elantra, Honda Accord, Ford 150 Lariat, and this one is worst of all. It's mind blowing for 85k CAD truck
4. Passenger entertainment screen: it stop working twice, actually, power button was doing nothing. Resetting everything helps but is annoying. I can't see purpose for such a screen, I don't know who is idiot who thinks this will be good idea
5. Main screen: it's so slow. I understand that this is computer but in Ford is much better and faster. Worst part are driver profiles. Such a stupid idea to incorporate memory seat positions to driver profiles when all settings are changed once you press the memory seat button. Many vehicles I owned previous had memory seat function, but in all of them were independent. In Ram, it took almost minute until all settings are changed. Such a idiotic.
6. Multifunction switch (turn signal stalk): this one is the biggest issue for me and it's worst. It has some jittery, clicking, springy sound when using it. Dealer replaced once and it was fine for a few weeks, then went right back to the same crappy sound. When I push it into the high beam position, it's much better, similar like was after was replaced, but nowhere close to any on my previous vehicles. Also, it's kinda sticky, it needs little bit force to be moved, not smooth. At my second visit, they told me this is "normal" which I didn't accept. Why the hell are replace it first time if is normal. My other 2 buddies have 2025 RAM and 2024 RAM and in their truck it seems ok. Now waiting for response from Chrysler Canada as well.
I like interior and overall look of the truck and I would really like to like this truck but those quality issues really take away from the experience. Currently driving Ford 150, basic XLT at work, and I'm more enjoying driving Ford then RAM. If those issues will not be fixed or replaced, I'm looking to get of rid of this truck as soon as I will have a chance, so shame for RAM. Curious if anyone else has run into the same problems, especially with the mirrors or blinker switch?
