What a bummer that the Instrument Panel Cluster only shows the Factory NAV Map in the cluster. Seems like an oversight not to include the CarPlay or Android Auto maps. I could understand 3rd partly like WAZE etc but if you offer CarPlay and Android Auto integration I think it should be included to have this function. I have Apple, can anyone confirm if Android Auto as well only displays on the Infotainment screen?

That sounds like an Apple programming issue, not Stellantis.
Raise your hand if you're surprised that Apple would do the Carplay programming so that only Apple maps was supported in the instrument cluster...

I think you'd need 'Carplay Ultra' for Apple navigation in the cluster. The first vehicles to support that just came out last month, so it's a newer technology. You have to remember that Carplay/Android Auto is 99% just your phone using the radio as an external display. There are other functions in the background with audio info and controls, but your phone is generating the video and sending it to the stereo. It's kind of like plugging an external monitor into a laptop. FCA also doesn't seem interested in adding it. CarPlay Ultra: These brands have said ‘no’ to Apple’s new features - 9to5Mac

My comment was largely based on the assumption that this post is accurate:
If Apple Maps directions are in fact showing in the instrument cluster (I have not tested that as I never use Apple Maps), then I think it is Apple programming making that work but not making Google Maps work the same way.
But, I could be wrong. Maybe it's something in the actual maps app that needs to be coded to make that work. In which case, it would be Google that needs to update Maps and Waze to get it to show in the instrument cluster.

That's the 1% of extra stuff from the phone
. The phones have some APIs to display prompts and things like song titles/artists that stem back even from the iPod days so basic information can be displayed. Think of it as the phone can send the vehicle a text message with information and vice versa, but it can't send a video of the map image. The vehicle can send the phone "My low gas light is on" and the phone takes that and prompts you to look up gas stations, but it's not sending things like the oil pressure and speed in real time. The same works in reverse. the phone can send a message of "Turn left in 500 ft" but needs Carplay Ultra to send a video of the map with a triangle moving, etc. Carplay Ultra is basically exactly what it can't do. It works by having the vehicle send all of the stats to the phone - Speed, oil pressure, voltages, etc. Everything you'd see in the cluster, it sends to your phone, which generates the dash and send its back. I'm making some assumptions here, as I can't find public documentation on Carplay Ultra, but the theory is sound as it's an extension of the current carplay technology.
I'm an IT guy, so how technologies work is fun for me. I'm not specifically a developer or anything, but I know a thing or two about a thing or two.
CarPlay Ultra is not required for instrument cluster map support. BMW and Volvo both support it without Ultra. It’s not an Apple limitation. Apple provides the APIs to support it, but OEMs have to implement it on their end. Stellantis has chosen not to (so far).
