So the oil spec for the 2025 1500 with the 3.0 liter inline 6 SO engine is 0-20W. The HO engine gets 0-40W. Given the recent recall on the Chevy and the “fix” is moving it from 0-20W to 0-40W so there is better protection, is anyone with the SO running 0-40W oil? What was the MPG impact of that change?
We know the Feds are pushing this light oil issue and the OEMs are picking what they think will get past the warranty. Many owners are interested in putting 200K to 300K miles on their trucks and a re willing to pay with slightly reduced MPG rather than an expensive rebuild. I’m just curious if folks have made the change.
