2022 tailgate issue?

Since picking up my 22 I noticed the tailgate closed “hard”. There have a been a few occasions I thought it was closed but got a dash warning it is open. Upon checking the passenger side doesn’t look like it was fully closed. Where the tailgate and body panels were not flush. By closing the tailgate forcibly the panels would be flush and the dash light goes out. Today I looked closer and saw this on the passenger side. There is a small 1/8” to 1/4 “bump” on the frame of the body panel. The driver side does not have the same bump. Seems to rub a bit on the tailgate when closed. You can see the paint rubbing off. Wondering if this is why the tailgate needs to be shut hard to get it to fully close.

Anyone else seeing this bump?

When the tailgate is fully closed properly how do the gaps on each side look?

If it’s rubbing paint bring it back. They can adjust it a bit. For all the new rams the gap on the right side is narrower than the left by a 1/16th or so. And yes the sorta require a firm thump to close so that the bed light and warning light shut off. As they break in it gets easier, but that paint rub shouldn’t be happening obviously!

Having the tonneau cover sometimes also increases the torque needed to close the tailgate so that the sensor sees it at shut

When the tailgate is fully closed properly how do the gaps on each side look?

About even. Interested in the little nub that is in the pictures. That's the part that is rubbing slightly. Does anyone else have that same bump? I agree if it's rubbing it's not right and needs to be looked at.

That nub is not right. There should be no metal protruding into the tailgate gap. Here's a couple pics of mine...
