2022 Rebel SGW cable

Hi...im coming from a 2018 Ram Sport and i had the sgw bypass cable like in the picture
But i jyst purchased a 2022 Rebel and im not sure this will work on it....or do i absolutely need the 12+8 cable like in this picture
Just wondering...and if its this cable i need....can i leave it plugged in all the time?...please help me out....and thank you in advance for your answers....

You need the red cable for any 2019-2024 Ram 1500 DT. (2025 is a different beast electronically).

You should be able to keep it connected full time, but remove it (and re-connect the stock cables) before bringing it to a dealer for service.

I'd suggest trying the cable you have already. It's possible it will work. If not, then you can purchase the other one.
