Hi all, I’m facing a serious issue with my 2022 Ram 1500. 95,000 miles, the rear differential completely blew out.
The shop that inspected it told me that a rebuild isn't possible, and I'd need to replace the entire differential assembly. The breakdown of the cost is as follows: $6,486 for the part and $1,609 for labor. Does this seem typical? (Note: this is not through a dealer.) Asked them about the oil level and they said it was within norm (did differential service at dealership at 90,000 miles)
I’ve always kept up with all the recommended services from the dealer, including changing the oil every 5k miles, so I’m pretty shocked that this happened.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue? What could have caused such a major failure, especially since I’ve been driving normally and have never even towed anything with the truck? Any advice or insights would be really appreciated!
