I have a 2022 1500 Lone Star with a 6" Zone lift running on 35" Nitto Terra Grappler tires. I noticed a noise at the rear while going over a speed hump. The noise is not heard when driving over a bumpy road, just when the truck goes up and down. It's a clanking sound. The suspension lift has been removed and reinstalled twice. Everything from tail pipes to spare tire have been checked and the noise remains. It was taken to the dealership but they want to hassle me because of the lift. The installer of the lift told me that the bed was sitting on a small amount of silicone and has nothing to do with the lift. This was confirmed with 2 other installers, as well. All they told me was that no noise could be heard and I was to pick up the truck. After driving it again, the noise is clearly heard. Well, it's back at the dealership now and I argued with them that they should remove the bed and run it without the bed to see if the noise is heard. Anyone have any ideas?

No issues with your springs? Could the coils be hitting each other?

Are there spring sleeves on the top of the rear coils? OEM has these to reduce noise

Yeah it’s the aftermarket rear coils for sure. My truck does it too. Eibach sells coil isolators, put them on and it should take care of the noise. I put one on and cut it into small pieces to distribute it around and it didn’t work, but I think if I got more and left them in tact it would work. It also worked with weather stripping, but the weather stripping fell off after a couple weeks. It’s a super common & annoying issue with all the progressive rate rear coils

Sounds like @Mclovinnnnn has your answer, but saying the dealer is hassling you over a problem you created is kind of a stretch. Unless the noise was present before the lift, which you left out of your post. Also you never answered about the trailer hitch. I had to 3D print a spacer to fit around my shackle hitch because it bounces in the receiver and makes a ton of noise. The drop hitch I use fits fine.

@Mclovinnnnn I had not thought of this. I have a 4 inch BDS and have this. I thought the guy did something that tweeked the exhaust but could not see where. The radio know fix works most of the time but I would like a real fix.

Do the isolators go on top? How difficult of an install?

So you guys are saying it is not the isolator where the spring sits to hold it in but that the coils themselves are hitting each other as the spring compresses?

do you have the deployable bed step? when i close mine it hits on the exhaust near the catalic, so i imagin if it hits when i close it maybe it does the same when i hit bumbs but i never paid attention to it ,. so not sure

Hey guys sorry for not responding sooner! These are the ones I got. They have different sizes but I guessed and got this one and they seem to fit perfect to me. I would cut them in half but don’t cut them up more than that like I did or they won’t work lol2646E7CE-A097-47DB-8009-BA6EE76C74E3.png

Aha!! Ever since I got my 6” zone lift I have the same issue/sound…and have been trying to isolate and figure it out! I thought it was my metal trailer hitch…removed that and still had it. I’m stoked to try the coil sleeves! Thank you!
