Hi all,
I sped through various threads and didn’t see this specific question so I may have missed it.
My basic question is I have a stock/basic 2021 2500 bighorn longbed.
My father in-law wants to give me his older 29’ 5th wheel. Dry weight is 23k, pin weight ~2,500lbs I have the prep kit (puck) and ram 5th wheel hitch rated at 20k, and the truck will easily tow 13k
I do NOT have any suspension mods/airbags etc. I only need to tow it one way from Sacramento to Tacoma Washington. My window of time prohibits me from modifying the suspension at this time.
Is there any chance I could tow this without mods? I realize the payload at the pin is over the states payload capacity but not the axle. Given it’s not a slide in camper (not certified due to spring suspension) is it within reason to drag it north or should I push it off for another trip.
