Like others, I've been having sluggish throttle response from time to time over the years. This, along with "Insufficient Fuel Quantity" codes. This could be cleared by flooring it on the highway. I waited for the fuel pump recall service and got it done the first week of January. No more than a week goes by and I still get random episodes that mostly reveal themself after 20 minutes of highway driving and coming to the first light upon exiting. Stopped at a light my truck will idle between 500-700 with a slight shaking felt throughout. Half the time when I press the throttle to start moving, I get a 2-5 second delay. This was the same before the fuel pump recall.
Fast forward to the end of January, I accelerate to pass on the highway, and my truck abruptly searches for gears and throws a bunch of warning lights: Check Engine, Traction Control, and Throttle Control. The dealer scan points to the crankshaft sensor. A week in the shop replaces the sensor and tone ring, under warranty.
After a few days of driving, I still have the sporadic low idling at stops and lag in throttle response. This past Wednesday, while exiting a carwash, I lose 100% of the throttle response. The truck is on, with no warning lights, and in drive. I'm crawling across the lot to a space while pumping the gas peddle, thinking I'll just park it in a spot and call for a tow. I'm between my house and the dealer (5 min in either direction). While in park, I keep trying to get the RPMs to come back up and, low and behold, they do. I decided to put it in drive and drive it over to the dealer.
The dealer is going on its 4th day looking at it. So far, two techs couldn't replicate the symptoms. Scan shows zero faults.
Last text from the dealer "I'm a little at a loss....I'm going to keep trying..."
Any guesses what it could be??
