Hello. Title says it all. This is the only package combo config that will get you the Black Aluminum 20” wheels ( Laramie with Night and ORG can get them too).

You can build it on the official RAM website as a valid config, but currently dealers can’t order it and they’re stumped. They, curiously, can with the Laramie trim though. And they can order a Limited, which has Air Suspension by default, with the ORG by itself which would have the same size 20” wheels just not the black ones. The Night Edition package bullets even say that it comes with 22 or 20” wheels depending on the config ( ORG=20, no ORG = 22. I can’t find the config anywhere. If it’s a website error, it’s a big one. If it’s not, it makes zero sense why you can’t order it. Mystery.

Tried to do this exact same thing. Aaron at Mark Dodge said it’s an error on the Ram build website. OFG can’t be built with Night Edition Package with the Limited. I also wanted the 20’s over the 22’s. It may be possible on other trims but was slightly disappointed that it couldn’t happen when we could easily build it on the website. I also searched nationwide and never found one built with the two packages together on the Limited’s. Regardless, my 2021 is on order with the Night Edition as that was a non-negotiable item.

That's what I feared, and thanks for the info. Congrats on your truck. Maybe the limitation will be removed in the future. Do you agree that there's no reason they couldn't make it a valid config? If it was air suspension then you couldn't add just the ORG since it's the same size wheels. If it was something with Night Ed + ORG, then you couldn't do it on Laramie. Seems odd. Did your dealer know the reason? Gonna keep fight a tad more before I throw in the towel :). Looks like I'm where you were before ordering.

EDIT---And, if the overall wheel+tire diameter of the 20's is the same as the 22's (i think it is or it's close), there should be a way to just order the 20's, replace the 22's and then just sell 'em. Maybe no reprogramming required.

Cheers,

Devin

I didn’t ask the dealer why; just immediately took the defeat. I really can’t come up with a good idea why it couldn’t. I know we would have lost one of the air levels since the OFG raises the truck 1” like the Rebels. I havent done the math on a 22” wheel and stock tire size compared to the 20” wheel and tire size but the 1” lift would give it a bit more room for a larger diameter.
I hope you figure it out or get it somehow. You’d definitely be able to sell the stock 22’s if you’re self inclined, as that might be a choice for us as well, and get any size you ultimately want. Pics I’ve seen with the leveling kit which allows 35” tires don’t look as bad as what the stock tires in my opinion.
Best of luck and let me know if you find a true explanation or someone else might know to explain it to the both of us.

Thanks, I'll let you know what happens. Looking to make a decision this month. By the way, did a quick tire comparison:

20" Wheels with 275/55R20 = 31.909 Inches overall diameter

22" Wheels with 285/45R22 = 32.098 Inches overall diameter

So both close to 32 inches, but 32.098 - 31.909 = ~ 0.189 or just over 3/16" of an Inch

So swapping out the 22's for the 20's would drop the overall truck height by 3/16" (pretty small), and a nifty tire-size vs. speed calculator:

gives a negligible difference...if the truck's computer was spot on, a 65mph reading on the speedometer calibrated for the 22's would be an actual 64.62 mph speed if the 20's were on there instead. Less than 1/2 mph. I'm thinking that's close enough not to mess with and would make them completely interchangeable. But for every 1000 miles on your odometer, you'd have gone an actual 994.

I wonder if "Mother RAM" would keep all aspects of the warranty intact...methinks no. Life is hard.

I didn’t know you couldn’t get that configuration . New for 2021 the Limited can be ordered with air ride delete .

I swapped the factory 20's on my Laramie with factory 22's. The speedo vs. GPS speed with the 22's ranges from spot-on to one MPH of variation, which is exactly what I saw with the factory 20's.

I actually did the opposite, swapped my factory 22's to factory 20's and noticed the exact same thing. No variance whatsoever with speedo accuracy.

I was looking at the Rebel, but was intrigued with the limited if I could get it without the air ride and add the night addition, I hate chrome and want to add an aftermarket suspension. Seems impossible to locate, I wonder if it has to be special ordered.

I looked nationally over a few weeks and never found one like that either; and after talking with multiple dealers, they've relayed that their ordering system updates regularly as supply issues come up or the production run evolves, etc. So they often sound like they're not sure, because they're not and they're not given info as to why certain configs become 'unselectable' in their system. Best of luck with your search. I'm close to pulling the trigger on a compromise on mine.
