2021 Laramie Spacer Fitment (My Experience)

Did a lot of searching on the web about the fitment for spacers and had a lot of questions that I just couldn't find on reddit/forums/YT, so decided to make this thread.

I have a 21' Laramie Sport.

20x9.5 Black Rhino Roku (+12 offset)

King 2.5 coilovers all the way around (25001-209a & 25001-210a)

Ordered Bora .85" rear spacers (adapter) + .375" (slip on w/ lip).

21" Laramie Sport lug length is about 1.5" (conservatively) [exact is probably between 1.5" and 1.6"]. To see if your spacer will fit, just subtract the size of the spacer from 1.5 and that will be the amount of thread that sticks past the spacer. If your wheel pocket is longer than that number, then it should fit fine.

For my application, Black Rhino has about a 1.3" pit behind the wheel that allows for up to 1" of lug to poke through the spacer. That said, I had plenty of space in the back (probably .25" more space - I can fit my fingertip between the end of the lug and the wheel). With a .875" spacer, I had about .8" inches of thread poking past the spacer, that sat within the 1" pocket of the Black Rhino wheels (see pic).

Strange thing about the front is that I had some rubbing without the spacers, but when I put them on, all the rubbing went away. Not sure how to really explain this, but there was initially rubbing on the front wheel well, but it's now gone... so no cutting or trimming anything.

With a .375" spacer in the front, you get full thread engagement (9 full turns, need at least 6 to be acceptable).

Torqued the wheel to 134 (Factory suggests 130).

Rides exactly the same as before they went on and no complaints so far.

If anyone has any questions, let me know... figured I could help some people find some spacers without going too crazy.

*I have Nitto Recon Grapplers, and the sidewalls for these w/ the aggressive side out are about 6-7 mm, so there is definitely more poke with these than with other tires (at least from what I've experienced).

Nice, that’s a good looking setup you have! I wanted to run .75” spacers all around but my method wheels don’t have any pockets on the back for the studs to go into :/ so I’d have to swap all the studs for 2” studs and then slide the .75” spacer on top. I’ve heard it’s not hard but I just don’t feel like dealing with all the hassle. Not to mention I would maybe have to do more trimming to fit my tires if I did that

Yeah, def agree with the hassle part. I probably wouldn't have done spacers if I didn't have pockets. Even with them, I was unsure because of all the mixed opinions on the matter. Almost became a paralysis by analysis deal, but I bit the bullet and went with it... happy I did! I didn't realize Method didn't have pockets, I really love them. 🤯

What's frustrating is that if anyone asks a question on the matter, the immediate response is "get new wheels" or "buy the right one the first time". I knew this issue going into the purchase but they only came in +12 or -18 and I didn't want too much poke so I chose to go with +12 and spacers. Personally, didn't want different looking wheels as I love how Roku's look. Oh, and not to mention the fact that there is someone always out there saying the bearing are going to prematurely wear, etc., but are referring to like 2"+ spacers or really offset trucks... no real input on <1" spacers. Again, hope the thread helps!

Yeah there’s a ton of mixed opinions. To me if a dually comes stock with adapters and it’s designed to haul huge loads then our 1500s will be fine as long as they’re quality spacers lol. And yeah I can’t speak to all methods, but mine at least don’t have pockets

I'm putting Mammoth 1.50-Inch Billet 6-Lug Wheel Spacers on to clear my 275/65/20 tires on stock wheels. I had a .25 spacer first that basically did nothing and the next step up is the 1.5 to clear my UCA'S from rubbing at a fast speed and a sharp turn otherwise it's fine when driving. Still just waiting for them to get here.

I have 1/2" spacers on my stock wheels. Didn't count how many times the lugs turned when I put the wheels back on, but so far they are holding fine. If I wanted to, what length studs should I get to compensate for the half inch lost?
