Just wondering if running at 230F for the transmission temperature on the freeway in a Rebel, unloaded and not towing is normal? In Montana, so speed is high 70s low 80s. Tires are stock size 33" KO3s at 50-55psi. Ambient temp 61F, 5.7 HEMI quad cab, stock height.
Noticed that my cooling fan is working overtime until it drops below 200. Trans temps just climb to 220 or 230 with sustained highway speeds after 20 minutes or so and stay there.
Just seems high, but no warning lights yet. Might be the high highway speeds with poor aerodynamics that mimic a load on the tranny? If ideal trans temp is 200, I'm more than a little off. Should I worry?
Thanks!
