2020 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 Skid Plate Search

Hello gang,

I have a 2020 Ram 1500 that I recently removed the Air Dam. I need to find a skid plate to protect the engine area. I'm looking for something cheap and basic, nothing fancy at all. Any idea of where I can find a simple black skid plate to protect the goods under the hood? I don't do a lot of off roading but I'm just wanting to prevent water, mud, and or anything else bouncing up hitting my fan belts or anything else. Is there cheaper MOPAR or similar skid plates I can purchase and put on myself? I would appreciate any help or points in the right direction. There is so much out there I have seen but for some reason I can't basic/simple bolt on skid plates.

No one’s made one yet, that I know of a couple of people had some fabricated at there local shops. You can go that route.. but I always wondered what’s protects the trucks with air suspension ? I don’t think they come with th Active air damn..

thanks, I may have to do that. I drive on back roads and highway so I'm just trying to prevent rocks and junk from flying up an hitting belts and parts. I'll hit up my local shops and see what they can do, sounds like it may be the best option.

Some of the earlier 2019 models with air suspension didn't have the AAD, but that's not the case anymore. I removed both the fixed and active air dams from both of the Limited's we own, and they both have air suspension.

Sounds like you don't need a skid plate. All you need is a debris shield. It should be easy enough to make something out of some thin sheet metal or even plastic. If I can ever find some time I'm planning to make one for both our trucks.
