So I haven't been on the forums in quite a while and just looking around again (Guess that's a good thing because the truck is flawless so far!)

Anyway, just a bit of an update for my system install. It's all done!

All components have been upgraded now.

Excelsus mid 3.5" in the dash L/C/R
SB Acoustic Beryllium Tweeters in the upper front doors
Focal Utopia 6.5" in the front lower doors
Blam Live 6.5" in the rear lower doors
Hybrid Audio Tech L3SE in the rear headline

Whole bunch of anti rattling and other little things done while the panels were off too.

Time alignment done with Helix DSP and factory sub off.

I have to say that this setup is bliss to my ears. It continues to impress and works without a hitch every time (Besides a small issue with what I think is the PAC unit volume wise). It seems to get better the more it gets worked in as well.

Couple pics attached for some reference.

Hello found you in this thread. Quick question, why did you go with tweeters in doors and mids in dash? Better staging? Did you try them the other way around. I'm afraid tweeters in dash will be too bright and mess up staging.

Hey, ya that's exactly why. I had tweeters up in the dash to try them out at first, that being said they did sound good but since the mids are doing most of the work, when I moved to doing all of the components at once I changed the setup back around to the tweets in the door. The front sound stage is incredible with the 3 mids up in the front deck and the tweets give some spatial brilliance being in the upper doors... The only thing is the left side tweet is in line with the steering wheel so some phasing/time alignment is required to get it perfect.

You really could run with both setups if you're going totally active setup since you'll be able to tune for differences

Thanks! Did you fab your speaker adapter brackets? I've been looking for some thick 1/2" adapters but have not found one.

Ya, I made them out of that raw Nylon material sheet, Copied the original brackets and fab'd them up.
There's really none out there that thick for our trucks readily available.... Some guys just buy the plastic cutting boards from walmart and use those.

I guess that will be my destiny then. Will purchase 1/2" ABS panel and go from there.

hey i just want to thank all the guys who gave me tips on how to mount the amps to the back wall.i took the "EasywayOut"🤣😁😂.i bought a little smaller5ch amp.it fits easily under the rear seat👍.i also bought one of those DSR1..Wow what a difference in sounds.it works good but no bass really if i play songs from the 80's&90's. but it works great.suggest for anyone putting in new audio gear please do yourself a favor and add a "DSP"since im not competing the DSR is all you need(IMHO)

Is the factory amp located under the drivers seat? Is this where people are using the PAC APH-CH03 AmpPro Harness to tie into the factory wiring?

Yes, the factory amp is under the drivers seat. I think most use the PAC behind the dash.
