Hi all, relatively new to the Forum, I posted last week about my new 2019 Ram cummins 4x4 with 3000 miles with major transmission issues. Here is my update, the initial problem / limp mode happened on july 5. On july 8th I called to get an appointment with my local dealer Boulder Dodge Ram, they could not get it in for two weeks, so last monday I dropped it off, Jeremy my service advisor told me they found large metal pieces in the pan and they said it had some issues in the valve body. Then I was told by Jeremy that they would be pulling the transmission which would take a day then another day to tear it down to find the problem.
Then on thursday of last week I was told that the new valve body was unavailable because it was "locked out by FCA" and they needed till monday to find out more. Today another service advisor told me it might just be an electrical Issue??? I keep hearing different causes of the problem and have been told that its the whole transmission or a pin connector?
I contacted FCA last tuesday to "escalate my request" for more than $35 per day for three days for a rental truck while this is resolved. It took a full week to get an advisor to contact me,(i followed up with 4 phone calls to no avail. Robin my advisor offered me $40 per day today (still no rental) and then threatened to rescind the rental car when I told her I couldn't get a rental truck for that? She was very unsympathetic to my problem and super rude! Its not that I could not afford a rental but it seems wrong for FCA to not try to make this right, Its been over three weeks now since the problem came up, and no clear timeline to get my truck back... Don't get me wrong I really like this truck but I have lost faith in the process and FCA.

I’m sorry you are having to deal with this, I myself had my truck in the shop 19 days for a few valvatrain issues. My only suggestion would be is to escalate this with another RAM cares open a case and go from there. I’ve realized you seem to get better results if you just try and stay calm getting angry at someone over the phone doesn’t help. Best of luck.

I’d be filing a lemon law case as soon as it hits the requirement, which in most states is 30 days out of service. The last thing I’d want is a brand new truck with transmission issues.
