2019 Ram 2500 Tailgate right Hinge

My 2019 Ram 2500 started out as difficult to open - needed to put weight on it to get it all the way down - then it was equally difficult to close. Now its even more difficult and it looks like the the oblong pin attached to the tailgate on the passenger side is coming out of the cup thats attached to the bed frame. Ive looked online and do not see either the part attached to the tailgate or the part attached to the bed frame - anyone have a similar problem and how did you fix it.

No, because we all have 5th Gen 1500s, not 2500s that are more of a 4.5 gen. The HD trucks use different tailgate hinges

I just bought my truck used, and thought this would be a minor fix, but now not so sure.
Any info you have or anyone else with this issue and how to fix would be appreciated.

There’s a recall for this. I checked the vin on mine, and it’s part of the recall. I still have yet to take it to the dealer to be replaced. But I did call, and they will replace it free.

Do you have any info on t he recall? Mine just did the same. I bought the part, but not easy to replace.

I had to replace the indge, located inside the taillight housing. you wil have to drill out spot welds and wled new part back in part # 68362260AC.
