Hey guys, I was looking to add a leveling kit to the front of my 2019 Ram, as well as change tires from stock 275/55/20 to 305/55/20. I was told that I would have to recalibrate the speedometer and that this would void the factory warranty. Anyone have any opinions? Thanks.

Short answer it won’t unless it causes a problem. If you do it with alfaOBD they might not even tell.

It’s not gonna be off very much. I’m sure you could find an online calculator to figure it out but I’d guess maybe 3mph on those tires. I wouldn’t even mess w the recalibrate. I didn’t and have 33” tires and didn’t notice any difference. If you were doing 35s then yeah it would make sense

The difference between those tires is minimal (4%). If your speedometer shows 70, you're actually traveling 73 mph. Since it's a percentage it isn't a linear value and is less evident at slower speeds. So when it shows 35 mph you're driving 36 mph.
This is probably not something to worry about with such a minimal difference.

That said, if you do. The warranty is only voided on affected parts. It's not like they can say you window motor isn't covered under warrant because you leveled and/or adjusted the speedometer. However an affected component like say a ball joint would be voided with a level, and something like active braking may be voided if you're adjusting the computer. That last one is a stretch but it was the first thing that came to mind computer wise relating to speed and tire size.
