In December of 2018, I bought a 2019 1500 Limited. From the get go, I had issues with the center console in regards to back uo camera freezing, satellite radio malfunctioning and the GPS NEVER searching on line, always searches off line.
I eventually had updates and software re-boots that corrected the camera issues and radio issues. The GPS, nada. I have had this issue looked at by my local sealership in Oregon and the selling dealership in Idaho. They both are great. Dealing with Chrysler Care, is another matter altogether.
In december of 2019, the Idaho dealership found there was an update that was supposed to correct the problem. They even gave me a number of that update, 24888. FCA says they have no idea what that number refers to.
Finally, in January, I was referred to a Uconnect specialist, Dianne, who was making progress for me. She informed me that many 2019 1500's were having the same issue and engineers were trying to resolve it. In fact, she stated 2020's also were experiencing these problems. I was asked to try the back door route by going to destinations and trying to enter the address, then search. I tried this for San Francisco and it searched offline, but gave me street options through the letter D. I was looking for Van Ness Ave.
I was then asked to wait for an OTA and was to call her if this didnt fix it. The OTA took 5 weeks to get to my truck. Of course, it did not work. Then Covid -19 shut everything down.

I am working this issue again, now that everything is back open and peoiple are at work. I contacted Chrysler Care and sent an email listing everything done, to date, regarding the GPS. They told me I had to schedule an appointment so the dealership could do a Uconnect diagnistic and to let them know where and when. I immediatley did so and forwarded the information. I was emailed back, that a management level individual would be calling me within 3 days. On day four, I sent another email stating that I had spoken to NO ONE!!!. I was given the name, number and extension of a person who was to contact either myself or the dealership. Dropped off the truck today, June 18, 2020. Have not heard from anyone, neither has the dealership. I called and got a poor woman who is, for lack of a better term, the front line person. She tried to get the person I was set up with, but they are on the east coast and he isnt at work yet as they operate until 11:00 P.M. eastern time. I asked why, afyer scheduling my appointment, being on the west coast, why they gave my case to someone who isnt there in the AM. The technician stated to me and the lady, this was the third time they have performed a diagnostic. What specifically, do they want him to look at and what area of the system should he troubleshoot, since he could put in 6 to 8 hours if they want the complete system researched. Since the senior case manager isnt there, I could get no answer.
The dealership is going to try to get the complete unit replaced as it is wasting their time and my time. It seems once they were bought by Fiat, they have become FIAT
As a kid, I remember people telling you that FIAT stood for ,"Fix It Again Tony!" Sure seems that way.
