I know there are a lot of comments on the speaker options for the new RAM 1500's so forgive me for being redundant. I bought a 2019 Limited with the Alpine system and I absolutely hate it. I had a 2014 with the HK system that I loved. The Alpine system has no upper clarity , muddled miss and bass and very limited EQ options compared to the HK. It seems that several of you have been able to use 6x9's in the front that technically shouldn't have fit.
  1. Does anyone know the actual depth you have to play with on the front doors?
  2. What 6x9's have been successfully installed in the front doors.
  3. Anyone try the infinity Kappas or the Focals?
  4. what Alpine models are in there now? I assume they are not the R's?
With the 12" Uconnect I am not really interested in changing or adding any electronics, just maximizing what I can with a speaker change. I assume I will need to stick with some very efficient speakers 91+

Thanks for your assistance.

I used Infinity Reference all around(3 ohm). Fit fine even in the front doors. Check spk polarity as it's backwards from how the aftermarket Metra connectors are wired. All factory spks are 2 ohm.
The front 6.9's do bass only, The back 6.9's do mids only.

I still have the stock sub and the stock 3.5s in the rear headliner as there's no real point changing them. Unless you care about rear passenger sound. LOL

If you look at the back of the stock spks with the connectors at 6 oclock the right side is the spk positive.

Sound improvement is significant!

thanks. Are you using the factory amp? If so ow are you bypassing the full range to the front and rear doors?

Factory amp. Factory amp is crossed over to only send Bass to the front and mids to the rear. That's the stock setup.
