I've had the truck for just over a year now. Time enough to find all the 'snags' and accrue some warranty recalls to make it worth taking to the dealer. These were the things I found, and what the service center has done to resolve, and things they've told me. Some of which surprised me.
  • Recall - Turn Signal Malfunction
    • Resolved
  • Recall - Disabled Electronic Stability Control
    • Resolved
  • A/C not blowing cold enough
    • Initially tech did not find an issue, but after running for some time noted driver's side sensor reading erratically causing blend door to change position. 3v drop. Inspected terminal 20 in the HVAC C1 connector, found terminal spread causing intermittent loss of contact. Repaired terminal 20. Will have to wait until summer to determine if this is truly fixed.
  • Auto Stop/Start never worked since purchase
    • Replaced 12V battery (assume the auxiliary). Issue not resolved. Schedule TA to come and perform unlock procedure. This confused me. When I queried this, they told me they have to open a STAR case to have a tech come in and unlock some setting. I have the STAR paperwork and from what I can make out my Hybrid Control Processor has the "Service Override On" set to True, and someone has to come from HQ in order to set the value to False, and change the "In-Field Mode" from Cleared to Set, in order to make the Stop/Start feature work. No actual parts to replace. Just a software settings update. I am stunned that they can't do this themselves, its a licensed RAM dealer. Is this normal? This is the first time the truck has ever been in for a service since I purchased it. Does this mean the setting was wrong from the factory? Is this a common thing?
  • Wind noise from driver-side, side mirror
    • There is an audible "whistle" from the driver-side mirror at 40mph. I have the electric mirrors. The noise goes away if I fold the mirrors in and returns when they are extended. Tech has ordered new mirrors (on backorder) no ETA. I've seen many other posts about wind noise so hoping this diagnosis is correct. Of all the snags this is by far the most annoying.
  • Standard oil, filter, tire rotation, fuel injection cleaner package (10k mile service)
    • Done
Overall, love the truck. Assuming they can eventually fix the whistling, I will be very happy.

The Auto Start/Stop story is a new one. Actually it would make some people glad it didn’t work. I know my wife always turns it off as soon as she starts the vehicle. Actually had an eliminator on our ‘18 JGC Summit. Just traded for a ‘25 JGC Summit but there is no way to have this over ridden so back to pushing the button to turn it off.
I don’t think I’d would even have it “fixed” on your truck unless there are other issues popping up. My ‘22 Longhorn has the same set up and it is very smooth when restarting, but I really could care less if it worked or not.

Maybe the stop start feature will help the life of the 5.7 hemi last longer due to less idling time?

I always turn the Stop/Start feature off manually when getting in the truck, so I don't much care whether they fix it or not. The reason I asked them to look at it was a concern that there was a problem with the auxiliary battery. This stems from owning a Pacifica that required an auxiliary battery replacement when its Stop/Start feature started acting up. Given this was a new truck and its eTorque, I wanted to be sure the battery was fine before the warranty runs out, or there wasn't some other problem. But from this STAR case, it does sound like there is a factory "off" switch for the Stop/Start feature though, if you can get someone to activate it!

Its definitely a fuel-economy gimmick, but I always turn it off. I also turn off Eco-mode too by enabling the ERS to keep all 8 cylinders firing all the time. Hopefully avoid uneven cylinder wear.

Wth is "fuel injection cleaner package"?

A can of seafoam? Lol.
