A buddy stopped by my house after picking up his new 2500 Limited. His is a crew cab , 8' box but the 2500 crew cab is definitely smaller than the 1500 crew cab.

Few things I noticed. His trailer tow mirrors have power adjust for both, large mirror and the convex one. And they power swing in. For those of us with the trailer mirrors on our 1500's we got sort of screwed on that.

CHMSL light is LED, 1500 isn't.

He has the 12" screen, I have the smaller one but both have the Harmon Kardon audio system but we noticed his sounds flat, barely any bass even after adjusting. Mine actually had too much and had to turn the bass down.

We could not find the trailer "blind spot" detection adjustment , like mine has. He does have the 360 degree camera though, so maybe that deletes it ?

They reused the same cab and bed from the 4th gen trucks, just updated the interior and changed the front clip to make it look similar to the 1500. The HD is more of a major refresh than an all new platform. Similar to what ford did with the super duty. Until the redesigned Super duty was released in 2017

Those mirrors though...

About the only thing the same is cab/bed as @Billet1500 stated.

New frame, new suspension, new transmission (for the 6.4), both the 6.4 and 6.7 have been tweaked.... inclusion of a lot of the 1500 design elements that are very popular.

It's a shame they didn't update the cab/bed, but it is a significant overhaul.
