I was poking around doing some research on the Ram Trucks website, and as I scrolled through a list of available trucks, some of the VINs didn't look right. Turns out, they're making some of the 1500 DT trucks in Mexico now (Saltillo, same plant as the HD trucks). I was not aware of that fact. If it matters to you as a buyer of a 2026, then pay attention to the VIN and the window sticker.

2026 trucks made in Sterling Heights start with "1C6" for the VIN, and the last 2 digits before the serial number are "TN".

2026 trucks made in Saltillo Mexico start with "3C6" for the VIN, and the last 2 digits before the serial number are "T4".

Interesting, wonder if that means they may be finally transitioning the HDs to the 5th gen cabs and are getting the assembly line tooled for it by running 1500s.
