I believe I'm not alone here, but with my navigation consistently showing me inaccurate location, Ram felt the fix was replacing the complete unit. Not my "dime", but a hassle to say the least.!

Replacing the radio module will be your best bet, yes.
It's not a hassle at all, it should take an experienced technician no more than 10 minutes to complete this procedure...
