I am posting this because I had substantial trouble diagnosing my Uconnect screen even with dealer intervention.
About a month ago the screen in my truck went black and no conventional troubleshooting measures worked to resolve the issue (i.e. soft reset, battery disconnect etc.). I ended up taking it to the dealership and they indicated that I needed an entire new center stack at a cost of ~$2500.
The part was on back order with no projected ship date so I just went without a screen until this morning when I finally got fed up and tried to fix it myself. I plugged in the diagnostic scanner I use for my 20 year old Porsche and the only error codes that came up were related to the CVPM (Surround Camera Processor Module). The module is easy to access, it is under the drivers seat (look for the small box with several fiber optic cables plugged into it).
I unplugged all the wires to the CVPM and the screen fired right up after starting the truck. I then plugged them all back in and everything, including the 360 cameras worked perfectly again.
The moral of the story...do not take the dealership's word as gospel and a cheap scan tool is 100% worth it. Hopefully this helps the next guy that runs into the issue.
