12 inch Uconnect radio needs service and black screen

Radio constantly says need service and screen goes black sometimes. Taken to dealer 5 times still has problems. when I take it in no loaner or rental they say not a safety concern, Screen goes black cant use my back up camera seems like a safety concern. Has anyone been able to get these problem corrected. Coming up on warranty end need to get this thing fixed. Has anybody used lemon law for this problem.

Doubt that's going to fall under lemon law. And not a safety concern. Vehicles had not backup cameras for decades. Does it happen when you take it in? Sounds like the radio module is going out or there is a bad connection.

I'm thinking new head unit for black screen and a possible loose connector at black box for error message. Very irritating its my wife's truck no happy wife no happy life!

There's two pieces to it. The screen is nothing more than a display and then there's a module that sits behind there that controls everything.

Does the radio keep playing when the screen goes black? If yes LCD issue or LVDS cable
Can you click on the screen and hear beeps and boops as if the screen was on? Still LCD issue or LVDS cable
When the radio goes black and the sound stops working, no function till a vehicle restart then your radio module could be going bad.
Very rarely the LVDS cable from the radio module to the 12" screen can go bad which can cause the screen to go black with no touch function but you should still hear the radio playing, just no control.
