12” radio update

I just bought a 2019 ram 1500 with the Harmon kardon system in it. And to me doesn’t sound like it’s performing at its full potential and is lacking in bass. I looked at the version it was on and it says 12.1 after SBX in the application version. I was looking through forums and saw that people were on like 39.9 and 40.1. Is there a way I can update it myself or do I need a dealership to do it? Also, I looked on the website to check for updates and it said none are available.

Need to find someone with newest update software online, or get ripped off and pay dealership.

I think I found a 39.9 update file but how do I know that it's 100% for my radio? If it's for the Uconnect 5 radios, would it do any harm if I tried it on mine?

You also might want to make sure the subwoofer is hooked up. Some people claim their systems HK system sounded better after disconnecting the factory sub.

I have the HK system in my 2022 and it’s so-so at best. I’ve been very disappointed with it. Maybe it’s because I’ve been spoiled for many years with custom audio setups in my vehicles. I didn’t want to build another system, but it looks like it’s now in my future.

You have 34.31 on yours, so definitely in need of an update, but I don't think it's going to help your sound. Lost of people complain about lack of bass with the HK system. The Alpine has more.

39.9 is definitely UC4 file. The UC5 are different files. And if it's not for your radio, it won't let you install it

I got it figured out. I ended up updating to 39.7 because I'm going to get alfaobd to get offroad pages and other stuff. Thanks.
