I just found this thread, this as been one of my biggest annoyances. My side window defrosters just blow out fire while I drive. The only way to resolve is to shut off the climate control or manually turn the fan off, but that affects the rest of the cabin temp.
I get this constantly when the temp is 25 or colder. I brought it to the dealer and of course it didn’t happen for them. I mentioned the tsb and they claimed they inspected and everything looked fine. Frustrating for a new truck to make this noise.
I leave my OBD plugged Into the bypass cable at all times, and I’ll remove the bypass cable if I bring to the dealer. Everything remains tucked up under the dash though.
That would make sense! I’ll pull the backup file and send it, thanks! I feel like this is something that could be added to Alfaobd, right? An option of “not defined”
I finally got around to testing the “reset ecu”, and unfortunately it did not change anything. After the reset I tried to change it back and forth again but also no luck. I’d love to hear if anyone finds a solution to this!
I’m having the same issue as you, where I can’t get it back to the original on/off even if I revert to “default”. I’ve been talking with Alfaobd support and the suggestion is to do a “reset ecu” from within Alfaobd. I haven’t been able to do it yet, but that is my next step.
Since I didn’t notice a difference and the icon not changing is a bit annoying I tried to reset back to default in Alfaobd, but I still have the 4x press on the heated wheel button. Anyone else experience this?
I did a test today and enabled the high/med/low option and started at low and event moved to high. I used the OBD module to measure the wheel temp. It stayed around 93 for all settings. It was 40 degrees outside.

@RamCares, thank you for sharing the TSBs. I brought those to my dealer and they reviewed and said that none of those applied and that it’s normal to get that when the car sits for a bit like when it’s on a dealer lot. It’s my daily driver, so that didn’t apply. I’ve only gotten the message once...
It was soft sand so it was breaking loose for sure. My other thought is the esc reenables at 39 mph, perhaps I was hitting that speed based on tire rotation?
FWIW, I have the e-locker and while in 4high I was doing full acceleration turns on loose sand and that is when the engine would cut back. Maybe because of the tires rotating at different speed (vs straight line burnout)? I didn’t know about the full esc off, so I had partial off. I wish I could...
