To date, I haven’t had the issue again. Granted, it’s been a tad warmer. But it hasn’t returned. I actually took a dish towel and rolled it up long way and then wrapped it around the camera and handle assembly from the inside, nothing fancy or permanent at this time.
Total shot in the dark, but I “insulated” the inside of the tailgate around the camera and handle connections. It was in the low 40s this morning and no issues. Of course, could return.
Keep us posted. I wonder if we could add insulation to a connect point somewhere in the circuit. Maybe around the camera termination in the tailgate? A friend had a similar issue with an Audi and it was actually the antenna wiring that had to be replaced.
And its back..... sadly, after months of warm weather and no issues, the turn to cold weather here in Alabama has brought back the cutout issues on my truck...sucks....
What is puzzling to me is that we know there was a TSB out there about the software. I was lead to believe by a service adviser that it was a fix, but hasn't been pushed out yet for OTA updates. I've already had my dash pulled apart to fix a line in the display, not really wanting my local...
Let me push a little harder and see what I can get. The service manager asked for my software version number and did say I was due for the update, but they were not sure when it would be pushed.
I confirmed that the TSB states a software fix, but has no ETA on when an OTA update will be pushed. Service department verified I had outdated software based on the TSB. If you go to the UConnect site you can enter your VIN to check for updates. I did, and it said I was up to date. I assume...
