Drained everything and was only able to recover 4 quarts. I continue to be baffled by this entire scenario.

I let it idle for like 8 minutes last night after the change then checked the oil this am. photos are from a cold engine this morning.

Haha gotta love over analyzing the dipistick. I would say it's almost impossible that it's low by 4 qts especially. I coulddnt tell how much I lost because its on gravel but at this point I've added 3 extra quarts so assuming I lost no oil I would be at 10 qts! I can imagine I lost all 7 qts...

So the threading on the Napa filter was defective and when I thought it was tight I was wrong. Napa will be getting a call tomorrow. I added 3 more qts of oil and made sure I added some to the filter so the engine would immediately get oil. Any thoughts on whether or not permanent damage was...

I did clean the area with a rag and recall just seeing metal no rubber gasket so definitely don't think I doubled it. There was for sure a big blowout haha...

I highly doubt cross thread because it went on easy and I hand screwed it on as usual. I guess the filter gasket might have been stuck to the old filter....

Despite what I've found on here I think you can actually run 17's and as far as I know AEV conversions use 17's but that might be for 2500's. I cant understand how the 2500 would have smaller calipers or rotors. You just have to mount the wheel weights differently. Guess the only issue I can...
