    Regen Cycles

Are the sensors alone responsible for the emergency stop function, or is it in conjunction with the rear camera? I don't understand how the road surface, paved to gravel for instance, could cause this problem based upon the sensors alone.

    Overheating the 4x4 system

Note the sensor and electrical connector off to one side, away from the main connector near the shift motor. I wonder if this transfer case has a real temp sensor or its algorithmic.

    Regen Cycles

Yeah, I've had the brakes slam on (because I was close to something) and if you've never experienced it, you will get pretty jarred. I guess its a good feature.

    Overheating the 4x4 system

The 5th gen transfer case has the ability to keep the front wheels engaged with the engine off for better parking traction. I’m assuming it can also remain engaged for downhill descents as well.

    Regen Cycles

A quick flip of the rear sensors to “off” should cure the problem. That’s surprising though, because the sensors are sonar...I wouldn’t think heat would cause any problems in that regard.

    Regen Cycles

On the HD pickups with a boost gauge, during a regen you will also notice the boost gauge becomes much more active. I wish these Ecodiesel trucks had a boost gauge. I’m surprised with the 7” cluster there is no way to turn it on.

    Overheating the 4x4 system

How much did your mpg suffer with the tires you have?

Are CP4 pumps really a ticking time bomb?

Well...Ford did not overdrive the CP4 on the 6.7L Super Duty, and they are currently producing 1050lb-ft, so I'm not sure that's the answer. For some reason, RAM had a lot of CP4 failures on 2019 and 2020 Cummins trucks, to the point where after one year they made a revision and after two they...

    Overheating the 4x4 system

The part-time transfer cases won't ever wear out and provide 100% mechanically-locked drive to the front and rear equally. That said, I prefer the 4WD Auto functionality. It is the most expensive transfer case, and works flawlessly in changing conditions. I also think it is perfectly adequate in...

    Overheating the 4x4 system

Actually, you do not need a clutch to shift into and out of 4x4 on the fly. My old Ford F-250 had manual locking hubs, and a manual transfer case shifter. If the hubs were already locked in, and you were not spinning the rear wheels (rolling down the road with front and rear wheels going the...

NO TAILGATE AJAR WARNING ?? 2020 ram rebel

Did you LED bed lights located at the rear of the bed turn on, or was it just the overhead lights up near the third brake light? Since this "feature" doesn't cost FCA anything additional, it was likely removed due to too many dealer visits from erroneous behavior. My guess, anyway.

    Regen Cycles

It doesn't harm anything to shut down mid-cycle. It's not ideal simply because another active regen will have to occur at the next available opportunity, and more fuel will be used to get it up to the heat level where it already was when the vehicle was turned off. The moment the truck is put...

NO TAILGATE AJAR WARNING ?? 2020 ram rebel

What's surprising is that other trucks don't have this feature, even trucks with power up / down tailgates. It appears RAM simply added a microswitch to the latch which tells the ECU "open or closed." The ECU, in turn, can switch on the cargo lights, activate the dashboard warning, and disable...

NO TAILGATE AJAR WARNING ?? 2020 ram rebel

I'm not so sure this feature was "accidentally" removed. Maybe on the trucks that came with this feature working from the factory, but I believe it was removed on purpose for newer trucks. Chrysler may have only intended this feature from the beginning on trucks with the split tailgate. I have...

NO TAILGATE AJAR WARNING ?? 2020 ram rebel

I'm surprised all these people on here are talking lawsuits and shouting safety issue when the reality is, to my knowledge, no other truck has this feature, either. And trucks for years haven't had this feature. It's kind of like needing a warning to lock the front door to your house when you go...
