I'm not positive what the brown wire is but I used the 'red' wire of the bed light harness to tap into. On my '21 the red wire was the power line when I tested all the wires using a multimeter. You are using a new harness, yeah?
My pin8 wire was orangish in color but yours might be different but yes, if you only want the handle light to turn on with your bed lights you would only need to tap into the red bed light wire. I would recommend testing your wires with a multimeter just to make sure you are tapping into the...
Thanks to @FM45 and his write up, I was able to finish this ‘mod’ over the weekend. I will say doing this on my truck with the MFTG was a pain in the **** for sure. The harness it self was a beast to get out and get back in. The harness has a plug that attaches to both sides of the doors and the...
Thanks for writing this up. Now I wonder if it’s a similar process for a truck with surround view and MFTG. @Jimmy07 would following FM45s write work the same with surround view and MFTG?
‘21 Limited and after towing my truck to the dealer I get the news of having the dreaded rear window leak, so they say. RF module and some other module are shot so who knows how long it will take to get those in and replaced along with the window itself. Truck started going crazy by itself and...
Kind of followed @MurphBigHorn footsteps and did a thing. Still not sure if I’m sold on the color combo but maybe time will change my mind. Wanted to break up the all black with some color:) The folks are @BRINK WHEELS Wheels were great to work with and they got it spot on with the offset I was...
Yeah, agreed and I know 100% the truck was not doing this prior to the update. I called the dealer and they said this is the first they are hearing this but now have to take it in again. I'll let you know once I take it back on Monday. I hate recalls.
Has anyone had to do the Trailer Reverse Steering Control Module recall update? I had mine done the other day and I don't think it's just me but now at almost every stop and go situation, my brake holds (like it does when at an incline). I'm positive the truck just did this at inclines so am...
It's not plug and play when it comes to the 360 cameras but everything else is. The camera stitching will be off causing the side cameras point outward more (since the cameras on the tow mirrors are angled). I tried using AlphaOBD to correct this but since the truck came from the factory with...
You'll need to cut off around 10 inches if I remember correctly? It's pretty much the length of the RO brackets. I haven't had any problems since doing this. Just remember to place the railing brackets that attach to the truck as close as you can to the area you cut and it will be secure.
Tow mirrors do not extend out, but they do rotate manually to give you the taller visual. If you truck already as power folding mirrors, you won' t need a new switch but if you don't program the truck and add the tow mirror option, when your mirrors are rotated up, your mirror controls will...
Congrats on the truck. So I tried this, swapping my tow mirrors with all options for standard mirrors with the same options. The swap was plug and play until the 360 cam part. The side cameras will ‘work’ but the stitching will be off because the mirrors cameras are placed differently on the...
