Glad you find it curious. It’s a free market. Nothing is simpler than the economics of retail. Being self employed in the retail sector for 40 years has given me a descent understating of volume vs profit.
The incentives are there. Either directly to customers or thru the dealer. When you look at the same truck at 2 different dealers. One dealer is at 18k off and 1 dealer is at 10k off. I’ll guarantee the dealer at 18k off is still making money. So how much is the dealer at 10k trying to make on 1...
Looks like the discounts at Mark Dodge are not as good as they were a month or 2 ago. Customer incentives are still the same, but my guess is that incentives directly to the dealer have decreased. I had heard that Ram had given dealers coupons that could be used at their discretion on certain...
I would agree on most all of this post. Having driven the new straight six for 2000 miles, I am sold on it. It is an incredible driving experience, but I may not be the target customer for Ram. I have 2 F350’s to use when I need to do “truck” stuff. The Ram is basically just a car for me. Time...
Stellantis screwed their faithful customers during Covid. This is the bed thy have made for themselves. I’ve been a Dodge man all of my life. I switched to Ford for my HD farm trucks is 2022. I did buy a 2025 Ram 1500, but only because of the extreme rebates and discounts. Stellatis can crash...
I don’t know why anyone would shop anywhere other than Mark Dodge. These guys have got it down to a science. Low margins and high volume if the best way to go for dealers and especially customers. I’m the cheapest old guy you’re ever gonna run into, and I walked away happy as a kid at Christmas...
As stated above, the only issue I’ve ran into is the truck hunting for the right gear on the interstate. I’m running 35s with 3.21 gears and the power in fine. I am mpg driver and the tires defiantly hurt that. Dropped from low 20s to upper teens. Only about 14-15 in town now
This is what it looked like the day I brought her home. My kids made fun of me for buying “an old man” truck. $2500 later and I’m a cool dad again! Best part of it all is that the finished pics are 800 miles of crappy weather later, and it still looks great. I haven’t washed it yet. Silver must...
Unfortunately, I am dealing with some rubbing. I did a little trimming and I’m going to have to do a little more. 3/4 inch spacing would have made it just right and given approximately 0 offset, but that was just not achievable with this setup. I do like the look with the extra 3/4 and I’ll get...
Unfortunately, wheel spacers are required to use the stock wheels with the 35x12.5 tires. 3/4 inch would be enough to clear the upper control arms, but 1.5 inch spacers are required to run hubcentric and not have to cut down wheel studs. I think the stance came out just right. I am a fan of the...
