The step that fits into the hitch is good, but with the tailgate down is useless. You should get the Bed Step from AMP Research, it will cost about $270 plus about $50 to have it installed, but is one of the best things to add! Amp Research BedStep (19-20 RAM 1500) Item R110525

If you ever try to put the bed extender on or turn the hinge to the "closed" position and can't get it to open, make sure the Truck is Unlocked and just open the tailgate. This will release the "C" shaped hinge and operate as normal.
