Yah I effectively did the same thing and tried again yesterday. Same message - dealer has to work with us. I am guessing a lot of folks are swapping and they are clamping down perhaps for security reasons with potential theft or perhaps the age old suspicion that they want us to buy a new...
Interesting. Sorry when I say "SIM card". I mean the IMEI/ICCID numbers from new radio/screen. I too made actually 4 calls and they have pushed back to force me this direction. So I seem to have no choice but to go forward with working through a dealer to navigate this. Perhaps its just luck...
So working with a local dealership which is very supportive of this effort. After speaking with Guardian and dealership an alignment of NEW radio is required to get SOS/remote services working again and as you mentioned a new SIM card. I have the new sim working through ATT but still required...
No I ordered the 2022 screen and the UC5 radio but radio is on backorder so purchased the 2020 radio thinking it would just work with the 2022 screen and I can
use the system while waiting on the UC5 radio and information on how to install. The 2022 screen does not work for UC4 radios/at least...
I have seen some traffic regarding Guardian issues after the swap. I am unable to use the SOS button and remote services. Spoke to Guardian several times and they require a Star Ticket from a dealership to tell them the new radio number at least as best I can tell. I am working with a...
Just wanted to thank all on this thread who helped me get this working in my 2020 RAM 1500. Followed the trail and have it working with a 2020 radio/12.1" screen. Even pages (39.7 installed)/etc. Have a 2022 screen and ordered the 2022 UC5 radio but on backorder so am looking forward to...
FYI, I did get the 2020 radio and 2020 screen working completely in my 2020 ram 1500. I originally ordered a 2022 screen not knowing it was different from 2019-2021 and I had it working with the 2020 radio module with the exception of touch. Found out the LVDS cable is different for 2022...
Hi Jimmy, Can you share what connectors are required for the UC5 module and or if you have any pinout's or have adapted it yet? Wasn't sure if you had received the new radio and been able to try anything yet. Thanks
So I captured a lot of steps so many have been guided with in these threads. My concern now is I really don't have a schematic in view of how the system wires together.
I visualized (perhaps wrong) that the display (new 2022 center stack) has connections to the UC5 radio and the radio will need...
Can I ask how you ordered this module? Having a hard time through MOPAR/delerships as they want the VIN. New to this side of the discussion, the actual getting the parts...
Trying to identify the 2022 screen and UC5 module (68507350AB) to see if I can get them on order...
Thanks for the perseverance. Good to know as I will have to cancel as well when I do the swap. Hoping to see a list of basic steps so far for this new system when the dust settles and I too will brave the swap.
Personally dont see how model year would matter but radio model or serial number does. Could it be all the extra stuff sirrus offers like tracking stolen etc that would make model year matter? Guess your contact could help here…
I see. I did a blitz google search regarding TBM which I know nothing about and there are some documents mentioning it. Looks possible that it too changes with uconnect 5 (?) and it
is all tied into 4G/hotspots/emergency calls/SirrusXM (perhaps mentioned in context of using Assist to activate...
Great news there. Well hopefully then they can help decipher where the broken link is. I have had SXM be slow to configure in past but figure you gave it a good amount of time.
Sorry if this is hip shooting but do you have any way of seeing if this new UC5 unit is even receiving any signal? What signs of life do you see in the XM/antenna hooked up ok without need of changing any connectors? Being on the front line is touch. Thanks for trying.
Yes I believe so. I have a dealership with a service department that is incredibly supportive and cares about customer support. They said when I bought the truck to wait a year and aftermarket folks would find ways of doing this. I was interested at that time in installing a cargo camera and...
Hi, Yes I read that I guess do to VIN number/etc. Updating with USB is still an option and is less convenient but part of the cost of swapping I suppose.
Thanks for the assessment. I like the hardware for UC5 and its supposed to be "4x faster". I also like how the newer versions take advantage of the screen real estate so I am personally thinking about investing in this newer system and ride the fixes as I have done so often in other arenas...
