Powder coating requires baking the rims in an oven after the coating... the plastic inserts would have melted and/or warped, so they needed to be removed, painted separately and then re-attached to the rims.
It didn't look right without the inserts... something was missing. I painted the inserts the matching body colour, except a matte finish... which contrasted the gloss black powder coat.
Glad to know that in the Apline set up, the dash are NOT wired in Parallel... i can run them off a seperate amp/channel direct.
The aim is to get each set/pair (dash, front and rear) on a dedicated channel. I will probably run the dash and front doors off the P600x4 and the rear doors off the...

Doing similar set up, however slightly different. Have a 2020 Ram Sport Alpine with 12" screen.
The plan is to replace all speakers (dash 3.5", front and rear 6x9's) with Infinity Reference - gonna use the 3-ways for the front and rear. I also have two Fosgate P3 10"...
The rim is a powdercoated gloss black and the inserts were colour matched painted to the trucks original colour but in a matte finish for some contrast.
Finally mounted the rims on for the summer with some Falken AT tires... put a 1.5" hubcentric wheel spacer on for a little poke... absolutely love the setup and stance...
Clear... i put it on the insert and also the face of the rim where it seats, to ensure it bonded properly... its a tight fit, so they aren't going anywhere. These will be my summer rims so not worried about ice snow etc.
Been doing research and JB Weld has been recommended often as an alternative to silicone. Reading that an epoxy glue is better on something thats stronger for wheels/rims.
I was able to pry the inserts off with a little heat from the back end and some plastic trim removal tools... do not use a screw driver as it will damage the inserts. Looks like they are siliconed in place.
I'm gonna be powdercoating them gloss black and painting or wrapping the inserts matte...
