I went with the American Roll Cover with the Yakima rails and added crossbars and a rack.

Take a look at the American Roll Cover with their Rack System: https://www.truckcoversusa.com/american-rack-system/ Anything you could construct from a Yakima rail base could be added at the back, and it would be removeable. I guess the only concern would be weight rating.

You have to remove them.

Replaced my tri-fold Lomax (OEM for Weathertech) with an American Roll Cover. From what I could find this was the only cover which fits on a Rambox-equipped truck and includes Yakima-compatible rails for adding racks.

I use a Lomax tri-fold and it just lifts out when you fold it all the way open so that you have access to the entire bed.

Interesting, my Lomax came with little flaps which somewhat help. I'm considering upgrading to the Diamondback so this is good info. I wonder if you can get replacement flaps from Lomax (or Weathertech, who OEMs the Lomax cover).
