I use what I would consider a 12x12 diaper cloth. Very thick, white cotton with blue stitching. I cannot find them anymore for the life of me! I always wipe with one side when wet and flip over and follow up with a second dry wipe for a final buff on the glass. Works like a charm.

I concur, it's probably the rotor surface or they are warped already. I would bet the dealer will cover this one time under warranty with such low mileage. If you were at 8-10k miles, it would be considered wear and tear. Good luck!
