My PPE transmission pan: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Like others have said, there's no need to use anything from the old pan other than the bolts. Make sure you have a new gasket.

My PPE transmission pan: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Yep, that all looks right! You have the deep pan, so you (correctly) added the deep-neck filter. (One is included with the pan, btw.) The viton 1" o-rings are the ones that fit the drain port. You're good to go. Your setup will add ~2 quarts over the stock fill (deep pan). ("normal" PPE pan is...

My PPE transmission pan: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Because I didn't know about the B&M pan...and still don't. Linkee linkee? Reviews?

Don't pay the dealer $300 to change your fuel filter!

Toss it in with your old oil and take it to your county's oil reclamation tank.

Back window leaks that leads to more problems than solutions

One of the mods I'm going to try is to waterproof the Body Control Module that's behind the rear seat. I did have the leak and I've had my rear window replaced AND I've added permatex to the new window. So far, so good...but. My thought is to remove the BCM, add some washers to space it off...

For those with Off-Road Group Package - Questions

I had my truck (see sig, Falken AT tires, slightly upsized from factory ORP) in the Providence RI snow storm in 2022. It had a measured 18.8" of snow. I actively TRIED to lose traction: the truck and tire combo is amazing. With 4 Auto engaged (I also played with my e-locker) it just would not...

    Temperature

Just a guess... If the truck is AT 63, and you want to WARM IT MORE up to 64, it will HAVE TO push HOTTER air through. It may push 74 air to raise the cabin from 63 to 64, then settle. Based on outside temps, say, 62, it may have to provide 65 air at speed 3 to keep the cabin at 64. But, if...

After jump start truck wont shift out of 1st gear

Okay, that's odd, right? These trucks (and all newer vehicles) are best described as mobile computers. With that in mind, a few thoughts: 1. Why was a jump start needed? Do you know why the battery was too discharged to start? Meaning, did you use your battery and know what is going on, or...

Front Left speakers don't work...is there an easy fix?

I'll write this here for anyone who runs across my previous post. After sitting in my driveway all night, I turned the truck to ACC, turned on the FM radio...and the front left speakers worked. As did streaming. So...this is a puzzle. I -do- use a radar detector linked (via bluetooth) to my...

Front Left speakers don't work...is there an easy fix?

Folks, I just realized my nagging dissatisfaction with my audio (Laramie, 2021) is due to the front left speakers not working. Using the fader and balance controls, all the other corners are fine. I've tried it with 2 streaming services and also the radio...so, it's not the source. I'm hoping...

    Draining the radiator

That's what I usually do, but between the intercooler (ecodiesel) position and the funky clip on the radiator hose...I balked. ;)

Considering a Retrax Pro XR Tonneau and found this YT Video - Thoughts?

I'm thinking about the hard tri-folding one. Hmm. (Forget the name) But, I like the tracks on the Retrax. I have some racks for my bikes and I use them for that. I used grey electrical conduit waterproof fittings for the drainlines after the original ones kept falling off. I put the metal ring...

Considering a Retrax Pro XR Tonneau and found this YT Video - Thoughts?

I have one (and bought one for my son). So, 2 data points. I have not been satifisfied. It leaks too much. I've removed each cover (body work, rear window TSB, etc.), and reinstalled. The instructions say the rails should be angled about 3^. Yeah, good luck with that. Without an aggressive...

The dreaded leaking and cracked rear window frame

My dealer sent my truck off to the specialist auto glass company (Winston-Salem, Pfaff's Glass). Glad a pro glass company did it. Now, was it the rookie there? Maybe. When I got it back, I added the Permatex fix. Belt and suspenders... Going on 2 years of leak free.

    Draining the radiator

I was buying some distilled water at the grocery store, about 4 or 6 gallons. Some for cars, some to drink (this is before all the water bottles became available). The young lady asked about car issues...since it was distilled. (Like you suggested, that's the only type of water I'll add, whether...

    Draining the radiator

I'm a big believer in early fluid changes. Yeah...100,000 mile/10 year coolant interval is what Mopar says. Other than cooling (and preventing freezing and boil over), coolant has sacrificial anode dissolved in it. Like the zinc block on a boat, it prevents the other metal from rotting and...
