I would rather go that route. On some of the video reviews (of other truck brands) the reverse light needed to be removed from your taillight and installed in theirs, thus halogen backup light. Not sure if the Ram one is that way or not.

The "signature lights" are not bright enough to be considered a true DRL function as you see on other vehicles, and were never tested as such before production began.
