For me, yes. Really like the different valving. Front end doesn't dive and act soft the way the stockers did. I also tow a bit and that performance is improved as well.
I agree with your move to put some real tires on your truck. The stock rubber is absolute garbage.
Another vote for airbags. I towed a 32' travel trailer at 7k pounds fully loaded no problem. Weight distribution hitch of course. Bags were awesome, really limit the bounce at speed. I usually ran about 15lb.
I tow a 19' boat and tandem axle trailer all the time. Bags help here too, less about...
I'm back looking at suspension stuff and just saw I never replied. SHAME!
My set-up has been solid over a couple years now. No issues with bags, springs or spacers. That being said, I don't have the big boy trailer anymore so I'm pretty much over the over-sprung performance of the rear...
I have a Firestone HD1000 rear bag system. The valves and lines are on top of the bag and I ran the line as such through the top. My rear spacer is on the bottom. No need to drill for my set-up.
I find the spacers to be a little noisy if I have more than 5lbs in the bags and it's cold out with...
Meh. No thanks. I saw one of those Hoonigan videos recently with the new TRX and the bro was like "STOP PUTTING V6's in TRUCKS!" For me it's so much of this and more so on the EV topic for trucks.
As a recovering engineer, I get it. Mom had a Prius for 10 years. Great car, for her. However, I...
I agree with every bit of this. Love my Equalizer and I can't state enough how important front axle loading and then tongue weight are. Also making sure you understand that it's a different fulcrum and lever than a non-WDH bumper pull situation.
It took me a couple months to dial in my travel...
Much appreciated!
I've thought the same thing regarding the ideal setup. I don't need a step myself and I don't want to bang my shins on one while I'm getting in and out. The kids really need some help however and the wife. Given the amount of heavy towing I do I'm also concerned about weight...
Do all of the new trucks have MDS? I've thought I felt it in the gas pedal but is there an indicator somewhere that tells when it's engaged or not? I haven't seen that idiot light on my dash yet!
If I'm doing modest hauling/towing (4x8 utility trailer etc) I never use tow/haul mode mostly because I forget. When I tow my boat (19' open open bow and tandem axle trailer) or my travel trailer (27' box tandem axle) I ALWAYS use the tow/haul mode. Getting things rolling and more important...
