A Borla S-Type Catback is $1200. The Mopar kit is close to $2K. Go with the Borla.
I do not think they are these same, and I think the Borla sounds SIGNIFICANTLY better, as I have one and love it more than anything I've ever heard for these trucks.
I just installed mine yesterday. Haven't found a single complaint on them anywhere on the internet, but they've only been out a year or so for the DT models.
My manifolds were cracked, and the bolts were broken again for the 3rd time in 3-years. I ended up buying the BD manifolds and they are awesome. They are impressively built and significantly beefier with uniform thickness at all points. I am sure these will not be breaking on me.
This is exactly what my exhaust guy said too. He did say that the redesigned version with strut bar across the bolts is stronger than the older OEM version manifold.
My exhaust shop says that shorty's are weaker than the OEM manifolds and won't last more than two years. He says as much as it sucks, just replace with OEM and hope for the best. He says they have been a bit better with the redesigned manifolds with the strut bars across the bolts.
I had my exhaust manifold bolts break twice while still under my new vehicle 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. I can't image your manifolds themselves being bad. Usually, the bolts just break off before the whole manifold can be damaged. It is incredibly common, and not very hard or expensive to...
I was getting the same two codes, with consistent CE light and Service Stabilitrac light. I replaced the Vacuum Pump's 30a fuse and the vacuum pump. It seems to have fixed the problem. I cleared codes after the repair, and they have not come back.
I have a 19' Laramie. I did fronts with Bilstein 6112 coilover at 2.3" and Bilstein 5100 in the rears with Bilstein B12 1" lifted springs. Easily fit 295/65R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on the Laramie 20"x9" stock wheels. The tires are 35.1" x 11.8". Rides like an absolute dream and way safer...
Same here. My 17' Suburban 5.3L has never burned a drop of oil, and we've had it for almost 7 years. It just turned 60,000 miles. I tow the max with it regularly as well.
Totally agree with this. Hate the Corsa sound on a truck. I have the Borla S-Type catback system, and it sounds the way a HEMI should sound. Everyone asks what kind of system it is. The sound is uniquely deep and throaty. No drone at all.
Nice! Don't do resonators. You will kill it completely. I have the Borla S-Type catback, and after 5-years of daily driving with them, I still smile when I step on it. Best mod to my truck, hands down. I will never buy another brand exhaust again. Borla for the win
I did a fluid change on my wife's 17' Suburban recently. That had a more traditional spill & fill process and has a dipstick. I did that one at 52,000 miles, as we tow a 6,000 lb. trailer with the Burban often for camping trips. Refilled that one with the regular Valvoline Maxlife ATF and it's...
